Overview
The Fountainhead Group is looking for a Engineering Test Technician to join our FGI Family and support as a member of the Product Engineering Team. Relocation Package Available!!
The Engineering test technician is responsible for supporting engineering activities in the development, testing, commercializing, and manufacturing of consumer lawn and garden products. Assignments will include conducting tests and inspections to evaluate the quality and performance of products and equipment. This individual will interpret quality standards, engineering requirements, and product specifications, then execute tests according. They may also troubleshoot and repair malfunctions and defects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and document the Electrical and Mechanical testing of various components, systems, and products as part of FGI’s product development and competitive product evaluations.
- Participate in the development of product test plans to ensure product performance meets specifications, FGI quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Follow and complete test requests.
- Measure performance (flow rates, pressures, voltage, current, etc.) of electro-mechanical fluid application systems.
- Record and report observations during setup and testing.
- Document testing and results by writing technical reports.
- Setup and monitor cycle testing of systems to determine longevity.
- Conduct spray down testing to determine spray volume per battery charge.
- Conduct temperature cycle testing to ensure durability of new products.
- Use data acquisition systems and MS Excel to collect, organize, and present data needed to characterize systems and components.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure good communication of important project information needed to meet project goals.
- Locate, purchase, and obtain parts needed to build prototypes or a test apparatus.
- Maintain Lab organization and cleanliness.
- Maintain equipment and test apparatus.
- Develop test fixtures and procedures for requested testing.
- Maintain prototyping equipment in the 3D print lab, including cleaning, scheduling and processing print requests.
- Maintain proper material inventory for all printers in the 3D print lab.
- Provide status updates on assigned tasks along with any road blocks impeding tasks.
- Adhere to all department policies and procedures, and rules of a manufacturing facility.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

USD $80,000.00/Yr.Qualifications
- Associates Degree in an Engineering field, from an accredited college.
- 3 years of experience as an Engineering Test Technician, or similar position.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting including following safety requirements and good laboratory practices.
- Ability to follow directions and priorities set by supervisor.
- Ability to write technical reports, including documenting methods used, results (data summaries and graphs), analysis, and conclusions.
- Ability to use MS Office Products – Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to use a 3D CAD system such as SolidWorks.
- Ability to use and program Arduinos.
