Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Adjunct faculty are responsive to their students and support success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning.
Job Responsibilities
Associate degree in Information Technology or related field, at least five years of related work experience, and a CIW (Certified Internet Web Professional) or a W3Schools HTML certificate.
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field with at least 2 years of related work experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide students with an introduction to Web Programming using HTML, current web technologies, and website development tools. Includes emphasis on the fundamental understating of HTML for web page development, the utilization of CSS for webpage layout and formatting, and the use of JavaScript for interactivity and covers current industry standards, web page validation, processes, and techniques.
- Additional instruction and knowledge in areas may include Search Engine Optimization (SEO), PHP, ASP.Net, JavaScript, and Web frameworks, MySQL, GitHub, content management systems, server administration, and other integrated web platforms.
- Teach ITWP defined subject matter as assigned by the Information Technology department:
- Maintain course materials in the College’s Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcement, syllabus, and gradebook.
- Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines.
- Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
- Assist in facilitating student clinical and or lab experiences as assigned.
- Participate in course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes as assigned.
- Complete training for various instructional delivery modalities as required.
- Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College’s accrediting agencies.
- Attend Faculty Development Days and/or Institutional Development Days as schedule permits.
- Participate n Learning Unit committees as schedule permits.
- Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMC collective bargaining agreement.
- Maintain compliance on all mandated organizational raining not limited to but including title IX, information security policy and practices, and other federal/state regulated programs which the adjunct will receive compensation as detailed in the current AAFMCC contract.
