Job Function
Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Adjunct Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning.
Job Responsibilities
- Teach subject matter as assigned by the department.
- Assist full-time Applied Tech faculty in creation or redevelopment of course content.
- Maintain course materials in the College’s Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcement, syllabus, and gradebook.
- Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines.
- Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
- Assist in facilitating student clinical and or lab experiences as assigned.
- Participate in course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes as assigned.
- Complete training for various instructional delivery modalities as required.
- Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College’s accrediting agencies.
- Duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement.
Education
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Michigan-licensed Plumber
- High School Diploma or GED required.
EDUCATION PREFERRED:
- Michigan-licensed Master Plumber
- Associate degree or higher or willingness to earn an associate degree. Applicants hired who do not hold an associate degree or higher will be encouraged to earn an associate degree. Credit-for-prior-learning, including credit for experience, certifications, and licensures, may be applied toward earning an associate degree.
