What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Support - Class IV (Consultant Services) position at Macomb Intermediate School District?
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in word processing and business practices.
- Above average knowledge of language skills, particularly in the areas of spelling, punctuation and English usage.
- Two years of experience in secretarial or equivalent type work.
- Ability to type 60 words per minute.
- Proficiency and experience in different software programs including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to establish and maintain an efficient and effective filing system.
- Experience in the preparation of formatted materials such as certificates, newsletters, brochures, and other printed materials, etc.
- Ability to function effectively with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to communicate clearly and to work tactfully, patiently, cooperatively and effectively in daily interactions with people.
- Should possess a mature work attitude along with other personal qualities of integrity, pride, loyalty and enthusiasm.
- Broad knowledge of office procedures and office machines.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to varied responsibilities
- Work history and reputation of being habitually supportive of peers, general public and service clientele; of habitually maintaining outward composure; of being a positive force in the work place, and of working effectively and efficiently with supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Provide clerical assistance to consultants and/or assistance to other secretaries in the Consultant Services Department.
- Handling of department workshop registrations may be a duty of this position.
- Make necessary preparations, as directed, for scheduled meetings.
- Schedule and maintain appointments, reservations and calendars in approved fashion.
- Promptly and courteously handle inquires and visitors who have business to conduct.
- Experience in the preparation of formatted materials such as certificates, newsletters, brochures, and other printed materials, and arrange for reproduction of materials as needed.
- Handle mass mailing responsibilities.
- May be required to assist in the monitoring of grants and projects.
- Perform such other functions and duties as may be necessary and related to the above and as determined by future course of events.
SALARY FOR CURRENT EMPLOYEES: Per AFSCME Administrative Support Bargaining Agreement
