Summary
The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for assisting departments with social media, online, and other communication strategies to better reach both internal and external audiences.

- Responsible for developing and implementing a social media strategy to deliver prepared content and support other communication efforts.
- Posts written content, pictures, videos, and media coverage across all online platforms, including website and social media channels.
- Responsible for live broadcasts of things like Commission Meetings, demolitions, media events, press conferences, and more.
- Works with the webmaster and departments to develop and deliver online content for their services.
- Assists with press releases, web stories, presentations, photography, videography, event planning, and media coverage.
- Assists with coordination and implementation of specific communication projects.
- Represents the Office of Communications at the direction of the Chief Communications Officer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience
The Digital Content Specialist should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field, and at least two (2) years of relevant experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
None.
TRAVEL :
The Digital Content Specialist is required to travel regularly throughout Macon-Bibb County.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Digital Content Specialist must be knowledgeable of the following principles, procedures, and concepts :

LANGUAGE SKILLS :
Ability to read and understand written materials. Ability to effectively communicate information to supervisors, employees, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS :
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a professional manner in order to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and / or provide service. In addition, this position requires extensive contact with other employees and the general public, often involving problem-solving circumstances.
REASONING ABILITY :
Ability to interpret and understand a variety of forms, reports, manuals, regulations, and other means of instruction and guidance
