Macon R-1 School District is seeking a HS/MS Vocal Music Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
Extra Duty positions may be available when filling secondary positions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
- Positive interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of digital resources, tools, and instructional applications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies.
- Participates in curriculum review and design.
- Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan.
- Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction.
- Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
- Participates in building, grade level and/or subject area committees.
- Participates in professional development activities.
- Maintains accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline.
- Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner.
- Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns.
- Reports suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassments as directed by Board policy.
- Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.
- Attends established traditional school-sponsored events (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings).
- Coordination of the high school musical.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
Nine month contract. Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
