Job Summary:
The Zoning-Codes Enforcement Officer is a full-time, hourly position responsible for the efficient and effective enforcement of the Borough Zoning Ordinance and other ordinances/regulations adopted by Borough Council.
Main Responsibilities
- Administration and enforcement of the Borough Zoning Ordinance and other Borough Code ordinances
- Visiting locations where violations are suspected, obtaining proof of the violation and identifying the person(s) responsible for the violation
This role requires independent and evaluative thinking, working in accordance with established codes, ordinances and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of municipal codes, ordinances, regulations and site development.
Requirements
- Certified Building Code Official as outlined by the UCC
- 3-5 years of active and documented experience including direct experience with municipal codes, ordinances, regulations and reviewing site development
- Valid PA driver's license
This position reports to the Borough Manager. Successful candidates will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
