Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Micro Fiber-Optic Cable Installation Technician for our client in Vancouver, WA. The successful candidate will install micro fiber-optic cables, preparing it for splicing and testing by the final crew.
Shift: M-F 8-5pm
Pay: $20-30/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cable blowing equipment to install micro fiber-optic cables through 14/10mm microducts.
- Inspect microducts for obstructions or damage prior to cable installation, coordinating with the installation crew if issues are found.
- Monitor the blowing process to ensure proper tension and prevent damage to the micro fiber-optic cable.
- Label and document cable runs, including length and placement, for the splicing and testing team.
- Troubleshoot minor installation issues, such as blockages or equipment malfunctions, in the field.
- Follow safety protocols to protect the cable and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in fiber-optic cable installation, preferably with blowing or jetting techniques
- Knowledge of micro fiber-optic cables and microduct systems (specific to your project).
- Proficiency with cable blowing machines and related tools
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and confined spaces, such as handholes.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with the microduct installation and splicing team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
- OSHA 10 preferred
