WHAT YOU’LL DO:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Junior Buyer to support our procurement and inventory management efforts. The Junior Buyer will assist in the purchasing process, ensuring timely and accurate order placement while contributing to optimal inventory levels. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong interest in supply chain operations, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase Order Management:
- Assist in the creation and processing of purchase orders (POs) based on demand plans and inventory requirements.
- Verify PO accuracy, including product details, quantities, pricing, and delivery dates.
- Maintain organized records of POs and related documentation.
- Inventory Support:
- Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or potential stockouts to senior team members.
- Assist in inventory reconciliation and cycle counts.
- Help to maintain accurate item information within the ERP system.
- Supplier Communication:
- Assist in communicating with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and product information.
- Help to resolve minor supplier issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Help to maintain supplier contact information.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in analyzing purchase data to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare basic reports on purchase order status, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Help to keep data within the ERP system accurate.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with demand planning, supply chain, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Support the demand planning team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
- Process Improvement:
- Help to identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and efficiency.
- Support the implementation of best practices in procurement.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate skills).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.
