Litigation Paralegal (Family Law)

Firm Overview :

Madigan & Lewis, LLP, is a highly respected family law firm located in San Mateo, California, serving clients throughout Silicon Valley. Our firm specializes in family law matters, including complex dissolutions, custody / visitation, support, parentage, and domestic violence litigation. We also handle collaborative divorce cases and mediation cases, as well as drafting and negotiating prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Employment :

We are currently seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal with at least two (2) years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of family law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys.
• Interact professionally with clients, lawyers, judges, and experts, providing exceptional customer service and teamwork at all levels.
• Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, including but not limited to pleadings, discovery, financial disclosures, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
• Maintain and organize case files, documents, and records.
• Manage and calendar court deadlines and assist in calculating pre-trial dates.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information from various sources.
• Assist with court filings, including e-filing in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Francisco Courts.
• Prepare and handle document production and discovery requests.
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and trial binders.

You will play a key role in our firm by helping our attorneys to leverage their time to efficiently serve the needs of our clients. The preparation of legal documents will be performed under the direct guidance of an attorney.

Pay range :

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Location :

The role will be primarily located in San Mateo, CA , with flexibility to work remotely one day per week.
