Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will have a passion for landscaping and grounds keeping, with experience in various outdoor maintenance tasks. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be at least 19 years of age.
Duties
- General maintenance, prep and upkeep of the grounds and facility structures.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies ensuring availability of adequate supplies to complete work activities.
- Assist in maintaining ball fields for activities and events.
- Schedule Monday-Friday and reoccurring weekends as assigned. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
- Repairs and maintains vehicles and equipment; maintains oil, belts, blades, filters, fluid, tires, and brakes; levels mower decks.
- Maintains playing fields; lines fields; drags fields and tracks; maintains pitching mounds, and batters boxers; top dresses fields; fertilizes and aerates fields; mows grass; edges ball fields; applies
- herbicides and pesticides; lays sod; install top rail guards on fences.
- Maintains county parks; mows grass; maintains, repairs, and supplies restrooms; picks up litter; assembles and install soccer and basketball goals; transports equipment; maintains integrity of playgrounds; cleans concession stands; repairs fences; maintains landscaping; repairs scoreboards; collects water samples for testing.
- Operates a variety of equipment used in athletic field management, including mowers, weed eaters, edger's, blowers and infield machines.
- Cleans restrooms and offices; sweeps, mops, and removes trash. May include supervision of games/practices.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or similar roles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in landscaping is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license.
