2025 Minimum Hiring Salary: $88,256/yr
Madison County is currently recruiting for a Deputy Director of Public Facilities. The Deputy Director of Public Facilities
is responsible for assisting in planning, directing and supervising the activities of the Madison County Facilities Department.
The incumbent assists in overseeing the preservation and maintenance of all county owned and/or operated public buildings
and surrounding grounds, public land, public facilities and parks. The work is performed under the general supervision of
the Director of Public Facilities with considerable leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgement. The position
exercises general and functional supervision over subordinate department employees and part-time employees. The position
requires interaction with co-workers, engineers, architects, contractors, vendors and the general public. The incumbent
performs related work as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
A. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree, or higher-level degree, in Building Construction Technology, Engineering,
Engineering Technology, Business Administration or closely related field and one (1) year of full-time paid, or its part-
time equivalent, experience in the operation or maintenance of buildings which shall have included or been supplemented
by one (1) year of supervisory experience; OR
B. Possession of an Associate’s degree in Building Construction Technology, Engineering, Engineering Technology,
Business Administration or closely related field and three (3) years of full-time paid, or its part-time equivalent,
experience in the operation or maintenance of buildings which shall have included or been supplemented by one (1)
year of supervisory experience; OR
C. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of full-time paid, or
its part-time equivalent, experience in the operation or maintenance of buildings which shall have included or been
supplemented by one (1) year of supervisory experience; OR
D. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
NOTE: Degree(s) must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national or specialized agency
recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was
awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, the candidate must provide independent

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of an appropriate driver's license issued by the New York State Department of Motor
Vehicles is required at the time of appointment and maintenance of said license for the duration of appointment.
