Title: Senior Financial Accountant
Office Status: 3 times a week in the office
Salary: Base between $115,000 - $130,000 20%-25% bonus
Role Overview
Our client is a leading SEC-registered investment advisor with over $6.6 billion in assets under management, specializing in commercial real estate debt and related securities. For decades, the firm has invested more than $30 billion in high-impact real estate credit and distressed debt opportunities. They are currently looking for a Senior Financial Accountant with a professional background in tax or accounting to be a part of a dynamic team at the forefront of real estate investment innovation. This role will support the management company, handling a combination of corporate accounting, operations, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statement schedules, journal entries, account reconciliations, and related support.
- Generate quarterly tax estimates, partner tax distributions, state apportionment calculations, and annual tax workpapers. Review annual tax compliance prepared by external service providers.
- Prepare quarterly financials, capital account statements, and IRR calculations for Co-Investment Entity.
- Allocate and bill back management company expenses (e.g., software licenses, insurance, IT, T&E, investor summit costs) to the funds.
- Review and process T&E expense reports and fund allocations.
- Manage accounts payable and vendor relationships for the special loan servicing subsidiary.
- Assist with corporate treasury functions, including wire/ACH payments, account openings/closings, and entitlement management.
- Prepare daily and monthly cash reconciliations.
- Support external audits for the management company and co-investment entity as required.
- Collaborate with the Controller and team on various ad hoc projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience at a public accounting firm. Experience working with private equity, asset management, real estate investment trust (REIT), or hedge fund clients preferred.
- Excellent understanding and application of GAAPs.
- High Proficiency with Excel required.
