What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Coordinator/Scheduler position at Madison Eye Care Center, LLC?
Busy medical office with patient focused philosophy needs scheduler with primary responsibility for appointments, phones, verification of insurance and triage. The ideal candidate would be friendly, courteous, reliable, professional and must be able to multitask. Must be reliable in arriving early enough to open the front office prior to 7:50 am patient arrival time. Experience preferred but will train as needed.
Office hours are Mon-Thurs 7:50 am-5pm Friday 7:50 am-1pm No weekend hours
Pay dependent on experience and applicable skills
EXPERIENCE/RESPONSIBILITES:
- Providing excellent customer service while collecting co-pays and deductibles
- Scheduling appointments, both over the phone and in person (requires the ability to collect detailed information accurately)
- Verifying insurance benefits and eligibility
- Answering multi-line phone system
- Triage of medical eye problems
- Assisting with the general flow of patient data and patient product orders
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient health information
- Must be computer proficient
- Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Greeting of patients prior to their appointment
- Check in patients, verify and update patient data as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with the public in a customer service or healthcare setting
- Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients and others on the phone
- Ability to follow office guidelines of care and customer service
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including multi-line telephone and computer with various software packages
No phone calls please - we focus on patients during clinic hours.
