The Madison Mallards and Night Mares are seeking an individual to assist in producing a 4-camera webcast for each of their home games that is streamed live on the Northwoods League platform and ESPN . The Madison Mallards and Night Mares are seeking an individual to assist in producing a 4-camera webcast for each of their home games that is streamed live on the Northwoods League platform and ESPN . This individual will manage and schedule a group of 7-10 gameday camera operators. Please provide examples of video work or a link to your portfolio with your application.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage and schedule a crew of 7-10 camera operators
- Create the live stream shot listings over game for commercial breaks to align with sponsor needs
- Assist in the creation of video content for social media channels
- Manage the Madison Mallards and Night Mares YouTube channel
- Assist with motion graphic creation for in-stadium video board, including motion player cards using a green screen
- Work with the Director of Marketing and Videographer to create video shorts that can be used online and on the video board to enhance the fan experience
- Work closely with other Webcast Interns to maintain organization and enhance all video content for the Madison Mallards and Night Mares
- Setup, breakdown, and maintaining of video production equipment
- Work with Videographer and Marketing Director to produce relevant and interesting content on a weekly basis
- Plan, execute and upkeep consistent media day strategy for players as they join the team Record between-inning promotional games that can double as social media videos such as player headshots, hype video b-roll, lineup card video/photos, etc
- Actively research/stay on top of internet trends relevant to our team/target audience
- Attend scheduled Sports Business classes, produced for the benefit of the Intern class
- Participate in rotational laundry duties as assigned by the GM
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Experience with video editing and software
- Previous experience directing a broadcast preferred but not required
- Proficient in video techniques, including camera positioning, lighting, etc.
- Must be a creative thinker with the ability to think of new, fun ideas to improve the fan experience through video
- A general understanding of baseball and/or softball is preferred
- Ability to problem solve on the fly
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be well organized and detail oriented
- A computer for webcast production that has necessary webcast and editing software will be provided
About the Madison Mallards & Madison Night Mares:
The Mallards are one of the largest and most successful summer collegiate baseball teams in the nation attracting more than 200,000 fans each summer. The Night Mares debuted in 2024 as an inaugural Northwoods League Softball team. In just one year, they became the highest attended summer collegiate softball team and look to continue to grow in year two. The Mallards & Night Mares annually hire more than 20 intern positions for the season, who may also have the opportunity to gain experience at other Madison based teams & events throughout the summer. Many of our full-time staff completed an internship or seasonal position with us prior to their full-time employment. Former interns have gone on to work for the Carolina Panthers, Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Green Bay Packers, and various minor league and summer collegiate league teams across the nation.
It is recommended, but not required, for our internships to go towards college credits. All Interns will be required to participate in weekly sports management workshops and external community baseball clinics.
