Purpose of Position:
Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator - Content is responsible for supporting the creation, management and coordination of high-quality communications content for all Madison Metropolitan School District stakeholders. This role works closely with the communications team and other departments to coordinate and deliver authentic, engaging and high-impact communications across multiple channels. This position will have a high degree of integrity, sustain a culture of continuous improvement, and be committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will not have any supervisory duties.

Qualifications
- You should address your experience with these qualifications in your application materials.
A qualified candidate will have all of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field or commensurate experience in communications, journalism, or related field.
Experience using Associated Press Style.
Experience with content management systems and software.
Experience working for a school district, local government, public entity, or in a non-profit environment.
Experience with photography and videography, including editing.
A more than qualified candidate will also have the following:
Experience in communications collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Environmental Adaptability:
Ability to work under generally safe and comfortable conditions where exposure to environmental factors is minimal and poses little to no risk of injury.
Working Conditions:
Work requires travel to different locations within the district and to off-site meetings.
Position requires working evenings, nights, and some weekends.
Certain positions within the District may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process
