Activities Director

Job Overview

The Activities Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in long-term care settings, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that promote social interaction, physical well-being, and cognitive stimulation among seniors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly and a strong background in event planning and senior care.

Duties

• Design and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to meet the interests and needs of residents.
• Coordinate special events, outings, and programs that encourage socialization and community involvement.
• Assess residents' abilities and preferences to create individualized activity plans that promote engagement.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with residents' health and wellness goals.
• Facilitate group activities such as games, arts and crafts, exercise classes, and educational workshops.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve programming.
• Provide support and guidance to staff members assisting with activities.
• Foster a positive environment that encourages resident participation and enhances their overall well-being.
