Creative Arts/Stem Exploration Camp Program Leader/Inclusion Staff – Summer 2025
Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison’s public recreation provider. MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50 fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses.
As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include: arts & enrichment, homework/academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more!
Program Description:
The Creative Arts/Stem Exploration Camp is open to middle school students of all experience levels with art. Camp staff lead structured art projects, games, crafts, and traditional camp activities.Enrich the art experience through field trips that explore theater, dance, pottery, and other art forms, while nurturing creativity and fostering an appreciation for artistic expression.
Job Description & Duties:
The Creative Arts Youth Camp Program Leader/Inclusion Staff will supervise, plan and lead a variety of fine art activities and general camp activities for middle school youth in a recreational day camp setting. They will also provide support for students with disabilities in the camp, to ensure that all campers are successful. Youth Camp Program Leaders facilitate activities such as drawing, painting, and sculpture, as well as water games, circle games, and team-building activities. In addition to facilitating activities, Youth Camp Program Leaders are responsible for all-day supervision of students and ensuring that the camp is welcoming and engaging to all participants.
Program Dates: 06/16/2025- 8/15/2025
Work Location: Hamilton Middle School.
Hours/week: Up to 40 hours per week.
Work hours: 8:30am-4:30pm.
Application Deadline: Open until filled.
Payrate: 15.00 - 16.00 /hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- Follow program rules to keep campers safe by upholding high behavioral expectations.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with the staff team.
- Ability to engage campers throughout the entire day of camp and create a safe and fun environment for campers to thrive.

Have a willingness to actively participate in all aspects of the summer camp program.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Lifeguard, First Aid/CPR Certified or willing to get certified.
- Previous resident/day camp staff experience.
- Experience creating and participating in camp culture and community.
