What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at Madlyn Metal Fab?
A. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implement, review, and maintain AISC and ASME quality management systems and continually improve its effectiveness.
· Ensure control of records established to provide evidence of conformity to requirements and of the effective operation of the quality management system.
· Ensure that quality standards are compliant and conform to product requirements.
· Directing the implementation of the Quality Manual and Procedures.
· Approve quality department procedures and work instructions.
· Review and maintain record of the organization’s quality management system at planned intervals, at least annually, to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness. This review shall include assessing opportunities for improvement and the need for changes to the quality management system, including the quality policy and quality objectives. Taking Corrective Action, as necessary.
· Provide direct feedback and advise the General Manager regarding the effectiveness and capability of the Quality Control System.
· Meet with the Quality Control inspector regularly and review any quality issues and outline plans for improvement.
· Ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
· Pursue continuing quality and safety improvement procedures that will reduce repeat work, lost time accidents, and promote the quality and safety record.
B. ABILITIES
· Strong communication skills
· An ability to do advanced mathematical calculations involving statistical sampling and reading and understanding of blueprints, material takeoffs, and other design drawings.
· Knowledge in grades of steel, welding methods, shop equipment, and operating procedures for AISC and ASME.
C. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
· Education and Training – High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Technical Requirements – Practical, technical, and managerial skills
Experience – a minimum of five years of experience working in a fabrication shop with experience maintaining quality-related processes to assure customer satisfaction.
