An industry-leading General Contractor is seeking a Construction Estimator to join its team on a full-time basis. The Construction Estimator handles the preparation of final pricing and competitive bid efforts, and in some cases prepares conceptual estimates. This role oversees or performs surveys and the subcontractor / vendor bid solicitation efforts.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure all project requirements are considered in the estimate
- Identify potential cost-saving measures and alternatives to improve project efficiency
- Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals to clients
- Monitor and track project costs to ensure they align with the estimated budget
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in materials and labor costs
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
- Communicate and negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve any issues or discrepancies in estimates
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all estimates and related documents
