for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Manager to join our
team at our Jacksonville, FL location.
Position
Summary:
The
Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of
the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of
vendor invoices, payment disbursements, and account reconciliations. This role
does not have direct reports but requires strong collaboration across
departments and with external vendors.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Process
high volumes of invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
- Maintain
organized records of payments and vendor files
- Manage
weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card transactions
- Resolve
invoice discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Reconcile
AP ledger accounts and assist with month-end closing processes
- Ensure
compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Collaborate
with purchasing and receiving departments to match invoices to POs and delivery
receipts
- Identify
process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Assist
with audits by providing required documentation and explanations
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3–5
years of hands-on experience in accounts payable
- Strong
understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices
- Proficient
in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent
organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability
to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong
communication and problem-solving skills
- Degree
in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required
- Experience
in the building supply or construction industry is a plus
