Job Purpose:

The production Manager role coordinates all areas of Manufacturing of packing house equipment, including, Mechanical, Fabrication, Electrical, and Electronics through communication and directions with department managers and supervisors, to meet planned production schedules at the lowest possible cost consistent with quality standards.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

• Responsible for production team with production departments reporting directly to production manager (Fabrication, Assembly, Parts, Purchasing).
• Communicate effectively production targets and priorities to manufacturing and support teams.
• Monitors and communicates deliveries from engineering, manufacturing machine shop, fabrication shop, purchasing, inventory, assembly and external contractors / suppliers.
• Participate in capacity planning and ensure that the day to day scheduling issues are managed effectively and keep management informed of scheduling conflicts
• Provide leadership and guidance on the coordination of manufacturing and production activities through planning with departments to ensure the manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Manager & Review daily/weekly reporting of hours applied to WIPs, time keeping, and costing.
• Working with Accounting to review financial cost reporting of performance of production. Ensuring production is falling within budgets established by sale of equipment.
• In any scheduling issues or deviations production manager takes immediate corrective actions where needed.
• Maintain consistent quality over manufacturing of equipment and electronics.
• Periodic approved visits to job sites to investigate/identify improvement opportunities for production prior to shipment of equipment.
• Meet difficult, short term production schedules.
• Recommend annual budget expenditures that would increase work output. Maintain a safe and orderly manufacturing environment.
• Assist department managers/leads in solving problems at any level.
• Working with production department managers to set KPI’s, standard operating procedures, setting MAF tasks time standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment for all employees through compliance to health and safety regulations.
• Provides training of all personnel to perform their jobs using proper tools, methods, and safety practices
• Coordinate and maintain ongoing, effective, safety plans to ensure program adoption and implementation
• Prepare, track manage and report on production schedules and weekly reports for management

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or G.E.D, preferred degree in industrial engineering or business administration.
• 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry
• 5 plus years of related leadership experience in a production facility
• Preferred Engineering experience 2 years., with ability to read/understand engineering drawings
• Demonstrated mechanical knowledge
• Shipping and inventory Control
• Proven experience using scheduling software & experience working in database software, ERP, & AS400 Systems.
• Ability to work in fast paced just-in-time manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated expertise in process management to ensure production efficiency
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Knowledge/Experience/Skills

• Bi-Lingual English / Spanish a plus
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and updated information
• Demonstrated understanding of quality processes and continuous improvement, such as Six Sigma certification
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization, while accomplish organizational goals
• ability to multitask and prioritize

• Demonstrates good organizational and planning skills
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas and thoughts to others, both written and verbally.
