Job Title: Accounting and Payroll Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting and Payroll Assistant to support our Payroll and Benefits Manager in processing payroll and managing employee compensation records. This role will assist in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting various accounting functions related to payroll, benefits, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Support the Payroll and Benefits Manager in maintaining payroll records, tracking employee hours, and verifying deductions.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile payroll accounts and ensure proper financial documentation.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
- Assist in preparing reports related to payroll expenses, tax filings, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Support audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
- Assist with additional accounting duties as needed to support the finance team.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing, accounting, or a related role.
- Knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and labor laws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with benefits administration and HR processes.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced or multi-location company is a plus.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
