What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Technician position at MAFÉ Resources?
We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a 3-month contract with the potential for extension. This role is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM, and offers a pay rate of $25–$30 per hour, based on experience. The technician will assist with IT hardware setup, maintenance, and lifecycle management, ensuring that all systems run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Device Deployment & Configuration – Set up and configure desktops, laptops, and peripherals to meet company standards.
- Hardware Maintenance & Upgrades – Perform system refreshes, hardware replacements, and component upgrades to optimize performance.
- Asset Inventory Management – Track and maintain IT equipment records, including serial numbers, locations, and statuses.
- Secure Hardware Disposal – Manage the proper decommissioning of outdated or non-functional hardware while ensuring compliance with data security and environmental policies.
- Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate records of hardware installations, modifications, and troubleshooting steps.
- Technical Support & Collaboration – Work closely with IT teams and other departments to address hardware-related issues and ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Hands-on experience with desktop and laptop hardware installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of computer components, operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux), and peripheral devices.
- Experience with asset tracking systems and inventory management tools.
- Familiarity with data security measures and proper IT equipment disposal practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
