What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern position at MAG Aerospace?
Position Summary
MAG is looking to bring in a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about our company. The Engineering Intern will provide support for Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings supporting aviation projects. The Intern will convert, review, and organize legacy CAD drawings for completed designs and assist Engineering staff in the development, test, or documentation of new designs. The Intern will assist Mechanical and Electrical Engineers in the receiving and distribution of structural and avionics/electrical parts from inventory for test or operational use. The Intern should expect to gain experience and familiarity with CAD systems, aircraft parts, airworthiness data, mechanical/structural aspects of aircraft components, and testing of aircraft components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Convert legacy CAD drawings to new format
- Review converted drawings with Engineer(s) for accuracy
- Organize and save converted drawings into an approved file structure
- Track progress and provide updates to supervising Engineer(s)
- Assist Engineer(s) in other structural or electrical tasks
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Ability to learn and proficiently manipulate CAD software
Education
- The minimum level of education required is:
- High school diploma
- At least one year of college study in engineering
Desired Requirements
The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:
- Familiarity with aircraft systems and principles of flight
- Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience
Other Qualifications
- Must have the ability to lift 50lbs unassisted
- Must be a US citizen
- Percentage of Travel Required: 0 - 10%
- Ability to acquire Secret Clearance
