Community Services Assistant Coordinator

Relationship
Report to : Community Services Coordinator
Other Internal Contacts : All MCE staff and Persons-supported
External Contacts : Parents, guardians, family members, community
facilities and resources.
Work Environment : 5% internal meetings; 95% contact persons-served in MCE programs, classes, facilities and community locations
FLSA Status : Non-exempt
Job Summary
The Community Services Assistant Coordinator is responsible to assist with scheduling of Direct Support Staff, assist with drills and inspections, fill in shifts, and other assigned duties while embracing the Mission, Purpose, and Core Values of Magic City Enterprises.
Job Qualifications :
A. High School education or equivalent
B. Willingness to support people with disabilities to live successfully.
C. Ability to work flexible hours for scheduled activities – in house and in the community. Ability to work on holidays, evening, weekends and in inclement weather. Share in on-call rotation.
D. Ability to keep accurate documentation
E. Physically able to assist persons supported as needed, able to lift up to 50Ibs safely.
F. Basic computer skills
G. Valid Wyoming driver’s license and insurable
Essential Functions :
Integrity
A. Responsible for scheduling DSP’s including taking call outs. Assists with finding shift coverage for open shifts, including covering shifts.
B. Responsible for assisting community services locations with planning grocery lists and picking up grocery orders.
C. Keeps track of the petty cash in community services locations, turns in all required receipts and documentation into business services.
D. Understand and advocate for the rights of the individuals in services in a positive and proactive manner while treating all persons you work with dignity and respect.
E. Maintain records and complete documentation as required by the Wyoming Department of Health.
F. Serve as a good role model to persons-supported, program staff, and any other internal or external contacts, including modeling a positive attitude when representing the company and / or its programs.
G. Assures individuals rights are not violated and assists with documentation of persons-served grievances and concerns.
H. Maintains a positive attitude, follows work schedule in a responsible manner, maintains an appropriate appearance, demonstrates initiative, and uses good time management skills.
I. Addresses agency concerns appropriately and uses grievance procedure when needed in a time of conflict.
Health and Safety
A. Reorders and delivers medications to persons receiving community services.
B. Audits MARS and reports concerns to their coordinator and health services accordingly.
C. Follow individual care plans assigned by a health care professional, these may include documentation and / or reporting of change in status, appearance, wellness progress of the person supported.
D. Is fully familiar with, and / or knows where to find policies, procedures, and guidelines for Magic City Enterprises and Community Service programs.
E. Assures safety and sanitation of the facilities settings to include emergency drills and responses, first aid, cleanliness of the physical space, and safe handling / storage of cleaning supplies. Reports any concerns to Community Services Coordinator.
F. Facilitates emergency drills. Ensures all community services locations run drills on time and that documentation of each drill is turned in to the Business Services Manager. Conducts any drill follow up that is requested.
G. Conducts monthly vehicle and safety inspections of community services locations and vehicles. Monitors vehicle oil changes, schedules oil changes as needed.
H. Facilitates, monitors, and offers medications to persons-supported if necessary, at appropriate time as documented on the Medication Assistance Record. Works with MCE Health Services staff and Community Services Coordinator to assure the health and medical needs of persons supported are met.
I. Attend required staff meetings and assigned in-service training.
J. Maintains training and certification in accordance with MCE policy, State standards, and individuals-served needs.

B. Assists with coordination of persons-supported schedule including but not limited to participation in leisure activities, social events, medical appointments, professional team appointments, and employment.

D. Assists persons-supported with the purchase of food, supplies, and services and keeps documentation and receipts for all spending. Assists persons-supported with the use of a debit card if applicable and maintain accurate records of use.

A. Assists with taking persons supported to appointments as needed.
B. Fills in open shifts as needed and for DSP’s that are ill or taking PTO.

E. Interacts positively and appropriately with community members (i.e. schools, physicians, DFS, families and guardians, Case Managers, visitors) both in person and by telephone.
