Facilities Custodian

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the facility. This includes performing routine cleaning tasks and supporting the team in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for employees, visitors, and other stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• · Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and disinfect various areas of the facility, common areas, break rooms, hallways, and entryways.
• · Empty trash cans and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal and recycling practices.
• · Clean windows, walls, light fixtures, and vents.
• · Maintain cleanliness of floors and specific work areas through regular cleaning or periodic deep cleaning as needed.
• · Report any safety hazards, damage, or maintenance issues to your supervisor for prompt resolution.
• · Assist with special projects and requests as directed by your supervisor or other management.
• · Provide support for seasonal cleaning, such as carpet cleaning or window washing.
• · Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• · Run floor scrubber in order to maintain clean shop floors.
• · Support operations when required.
• · Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• · Completion of high school education
• · Two years working experience in facilities Custodian
• · Ability to read, writes, speaks and understands English at an intermediate level
• · Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• · Must be customer service oriented
• · Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards
• · Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently
• · Ability to understand and follow directions as given
• · Ability to work with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:

• Continuously moving, pushing power cleaning machines, Continuously lift minimum 50 pounds (trash and supplies).
• Continuously to climb ladder and step ladder.
• Continuously at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, etc., as job may require.

Environmental Conditions:

• · Extreme heat or cold
• · Noise level which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs.
• · Cleaning fluids normally used in custodial duties
