Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily activities of material handling within the department or assigned area and overall safety.
- Ensure partials containers are consolidated and properly stored per floor plan during changeovers.
- Ensure all materials are stored in proper location, including WIP lanes. If location not available notify appropriate supervisor.
- Perform material/line changes as required to meet production schedule.
- Control and properly store all packaging material for your assigned area(s).
- Ensure all product is properly labeled prior to moving it to the next operation.
- Ensure all Finished Goods pallets are secured/buckled prior to moving from end of line where applicable.
- Maintain all safety / emergency access routes.
- Take ownership of the plant floor plan and ensure it is being followed.
- Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained, including emptying of trash bins periodically in your assigned areas(s).
- Make suggestions for Continuous Improvement.
- Lead coordination of changeovers of material with supervisor and spider to ensure material is properly prepared in a timely manner.
- Completion of pre-shift Forklift/Reach Truck Operator daily checklist.
- Any reasonable request by management.
