Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Forklift Operator with dock experience to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload goods
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to all company safety standards and regulations, ensuring the safety of yourself and others while operating equipment and handling materials.
- Material Handling: Assist in handling materials when necessary, ensuring proper lifting techniques and physical safety.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations, especially during busy periods.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address potential issues related to inventory discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or delays in the shipping process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift – minimum 3 years experience
- Experience in dock operations and material handling is preferred.
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, distribution center, or dock environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior dock or warehouse experience.
- Knowledge of safety practices and equipment in a dock or warehouse setting.
Work Conditions:
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- The role involves some physical labor.
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual responsibility.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
