- Purpose: To Provide support to the operations, quality, maintenance, and process engineering departments in the safe and efficient operation of equipment for the purpose of monitoring/producing/improving existing product and assist/run trials in the development for future products.
- Dimensions: Works with manufacturing and process specialist or engineering to meet plant objectives.
Responsibilities
- Promote and support highest level of safety, both personally and with others, throughout daily activities.
- Must be able to set up lines in order to run trials, with guidance from process engineering.
- Ability to make process adjustments necessary to control defects and achieve quality objectives described in customer specification.
- Review Quality Window trends when adjusting to ensure successful solutions.
- Educate and train Line Leads, Operators and other affected employees to effectively troubleshoot productivity and quality issues.
- Provide interface and communication between maintenance, materials, manufacturing, and central engineering.

- Serves as a 24-hour technical resource to assist the Shift Supervisors in troubleshooting quality and operability problems on the film lines.

- Provide input to Quality Assurance team when developing specifications.
- Works directly with scheduling for all new customer trials. And update useful fabric widths when required.
- Operator Training
- Coordinates all new customer trials from all aspects of the trial, such as laboratory support, acquiring raw materials needed, the actual run and making sure that the customer receives the material.
- Travel to customer sites for process support on new products, or benchmarking

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, process, and procedure manuals. Ability to write technical reports and routine correspondence. Ability to effectively manage technical resources and speak confidently before groups.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures associated with the process department.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to make decisions regarding work priorities. Ability to read electrical indicators and laboratory equipment indicators.
Physical Demands: Requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping and stretching; manual dexterity; the ability to distinguish letters; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds. Required to frequently ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs over extremely fast-moving machinery. Required to safely access fast moving machinery, which includes rolls with inward nip points. Ability to work outside normal scheduled working hours when needed in a 24/7/365 operation.
