We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill an opening in our Benson, NC location as Production Supervisor - Converting. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading and motivating the production team to exceed goals and monitoring the day-to-day production activities to ensure that production efficiency goals are being met, safety protocols are being followed, and quality product is being produced. Directly supervises 20 - 30 hourly employees. Support our culture of engagement, empowerment and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities/Principal Duties:
  • Assist in the establishment and leadership of plant safety objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the required internal certifications.
  • Lead, counsel, train, and develop team members as appropriate.
  • Initiate and deliver any required disciplinary actions for team members.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews for team members.
  • Actively participate in team member employment decisions, including hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Track and manage attendance data for team members.
  • Responsible for individual and team compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance, and process excellence by providing coaching and feedback to team members.
  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.
  • Perform 6S, safety, process, and quality audits.
  • Address any identified gaps and ensure resolution.
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting of asset quality, productivity, and other required metrics.
  • Positively communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies.
  • Monitor quality and make recommendations on when to stop production based on material being out of specification in conjunction with the Process Tech and Leadership teams.
  • Attend downtime meetings, schedule meetings, safety meetings, asset meetings, safety reviews, and down-day planning meetings.
  • Conduct and manage shift handover meetings, natural work team meetings, and other required team meetings.
  • Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, including but not limited to production and downtime reports and incident reports
  • Assist operators and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
  • Serve as a resource to Production Tech and Plant Leadership in resolving customer complaints.
  • Responsible for fulfilling the tasks as outlined in the daily task lists.
  • Required to serve as a member of the emergency response team, with training required in the following: Emergency Response, First Aid/CPR/BBP, Fire Extinguisher

  • Education: A college degree is preferred. High school diploma/GED equivalency is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment is preferred. JDE experience is preferred. Prior non-woven experience is preferred. Six Sigma certification (black or green belt) is preferred.
  • Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent contact with others. Ability to manage multiple functional areas and develop/execute plans for the plant. Must have excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills. be able to lead and/or coordinate the activities of different functional areas within the plant. The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
