PURPOSE:
As the Supply Chain Manager (Distribution and Warehouse), you will lead a team that oversees and optimizes supply chain operations for our Benson, NC facility. You will be responsible for:
- Lead a team that maintains safety as the critical priority.
- Efficient flow of products from manufacturing facilities to customers.
- Optimizing inventory levels.
- Managing logistics and transportation.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
- Planning and Distribution Strategy
- Guide a team of Planners who create efficient manufacturing schedules across multiple assets.
- Develop and implement a distribution strategy that optimizes product flow and minimizes lead times.
- Collaborate with stakeholders determining appropriate distribution channels and utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to managing distribution efficiency.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and ensure compliance through service agreements.
- Warehouse Operations
- Oversee warehouse operations that includes Receiving, Storage, Inventory Management, Order Fulfillment, and Shipping.
- Develop and implement best practices that optimize space utilization, and material handling processes.
- Monitor and drive warehouse performance metrics identifying areas for improvement and implementing improvement plans.
- Inventory Management
- Develop and implement inventory control strategies that optimizes stock levels, minimizes stockouts, and reduces carrying costs.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Production Team to ensure accurate demand forecasting and planning.
- Manage the Inventory Tracking System and conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Transportation and Logistics
- Collaborate with transportation providers to optimize transportation routes, modes, and costs to meet customer deliver expectations.
- Monitor carrier performance and address issues related to service quality, delivery delays, or damage.
- Implement transportation management systems to streamline processes and improve visibility across the supply chain.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive the continuous improvement process.
- Utilize appropriate supply chain technologies and systems to enhance visibility, data analytics, and decision-making capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain management with a focus on distribution and warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading a Team focused on planning efficient use of resources to produce and distribute within a complex supply chain.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain networks and driving process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of distribution strategies, warehouse management systems, inventory control, and transportation management.
- Proficiency in using supply chain software and technologies (e.g., ERP systems, warehouse management systems, transportation management systems).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities, working under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies is a plus.
