As a Staff Systems Engineer on the Integrated Knowledge Management team, you will be in charge of developing content author facing solutions in the Contentstack CMS to scale and optimize knowledge & content creation across all of Airbnb. You will be involved in the creation of the next generation of content authoring functionality, including integration with GenAI based content creation and analysis tools. You will closely collaborate with engineering, ML/AI, product, content, data science and operations teams to ensure Airbnb’s team of content authors meet the ever evolving needs of Airbnb’s Community Support Platform in the most efficient way possible.
A Typical Day:
- Lead the scoping, technical requirements, architecture, and the implementation of new features and functionality.
- Analyze data, build hypotheses, experiment, learn and iterate to improve Airbnb’s content authoring and delivery experience.
- Leverage your knowledge as a Contentstack subject matter expert as you collaborate with cross-functional working groups (frontend/backend/ML engineers, design, product and operation teams) to design and build the next generation of AI powered support products.
- Mentor other engineers in Contentstack best practices.
- Advocate and participate in efforts to advance Airbnb’s engineering processes and technical foundations.
Requirements:
- 3 years of proven industry experience in building and maintaining custom content author facing tools, workflows, automations, and integrations in the Contentstack CMS.
- Expertise for large-scale content data analysis, updates, and reporting, with the ability to handle and process large volumes of data efficiently using scripting languages such as Python.
- Proficiency in full stack engineering: JS, Typescript; one or more backend JVM languages (Java/Kotlin/Scala etc).
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable and fault-tolerant internal tooling functionality.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and ownership of problem definitions.
- Ability to drive alignment, manage projects, and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
- [Bonus] Industry experience in development of end-to-end Machine Learning products.
- 9 years industry engineering or systems integration experience.
Education:
- BS, MS or PhD in CS or related field

Pay Rate Range: $100-$125/hour.
