Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Daily implementation of activities according to the activity calendar.
- Conduct daily exercises at recommended times.
- Establish and maintain religious involvement through bible studies and pastoral interaction.
- Obtain information, using the life story form, about the resident from the resident or family members.
- Communicate with appropriate community departments when planning events.
- Conduct special events to celebrate resident birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and other special observances.
- Assess interests and needs of residents by working closely with residents and their families.
- Provide and maintain photos of all special events.
- Ensuring our daily programming is person-centered, based upon stimulating and interesting activities designed around the resident’s unique preferences.
- Connecting family members and residents to our community program by asking families & residents whether they have a talent to share with the community.
- Maintain all department equipment and supplies. Organize existing craft supplies and arrange neatly.
- Put activity baskets out on tables daily.
- Assist with daily hydration of residents and assist at mealtime with residents.
- Put on appropriate music on stereo and keep the music playing through the day
- Escort the residents to and from activities and the beauty shop as needed
- Escort resident to the bus and onto the bus during outing days
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check, Health Screening including TB test.
- Must be Drug free and submit to Urinary Analysis Drug screening upon hire and routinely.
- Must be eighteen (18) years old.
- Maintains current CPR and first aid certification.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret care plans.
- A passion for helping seniors, especially those living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
- Prior activities coordination experience of one year preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Must possess an upbeat, positive, flexible attitude and enthusiastic personality.
- Must be neat in appearance.
- Must be capable of using own judgement and initiative in daily duties.
- Can always maintain confidentiality and privacy of our residents and team.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; insurable under the community policy for operations of community vehicle.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
- The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Fields Senior Living.
Physical Demands and Requirements:
- Maintain ability to lift 25 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach.
- Must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift.
- Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities.
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items.
