We are looking to hire a one-year-old Preschool Teacher to join our Magnolia Preschool team. The successful candidate will have experience guiding behavior, modeling language, and creating a positive environment for one-year-olds in a preschool classroom environment, will be present every day, on time, have excellent communication skills, is a team player, and has a passion for working with children. Preschool Teachers at Magnolia Preschool are responsible for providing support to children in the classroom by keeping the school schedule and ensuring that the children in the classroom feel comfortable, loved, and safe.
Responsibilities:
- Actively monitor children's behavior.
- Communicate clear expectations.
- Support independence.
- Reinforce positive behavior.
- Provide effective, specific redirection.
- Be attentive to children throughout the classroom.
- Notice difficulties or children who are upset.
- Respond to children's needs for attention.
- Acknowledge and accept children's emotions.
- Elicit children's expression and ideas.
- Follow children's lead.
- Adjust pacing for individual children.
- Allow movement and talking.
- Support and model self-care.
- Provide opportunities for and guide exploration and learning.
- Be involved in children's activities to support learning and development.
- Relate information to children's lives and experiences.
- Prompt thought processes and learning verbally and physically.
- Clarify concepts and tasks.
- Ask open ended questions to promote thinking and language development.
- Describe actions with language and narrate children's actions with language.
- Help children with their learning and care needs.
- Follow a specific written classroom schedule.
- Abide by the laws in Bulletin 137, Louisiana's Early Learning Center laws.
- Follow health and sanitation laws and procedures.
- Be proactive in developing a positive classroom environment.
- Monitor children's progress and work as a team with other teachers.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly classroom environment.
- Reliable, dependable, and leads every day with a respectful, positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.25 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Experience:

License/Certification:
