Terminal Coordinator

The Terminal Coordinator manages daily transportation operations at a terminal facility, ensuring efficient and safe logistics processes. This role involves coordinating driver assignments, overseeing freight movement, maintaining compliance with transportation regulations, and supporting operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions:

• Oversee and coordinate daily terminal operations, including dispatching drivers and managing delivery schedules.
• Establish relationships with drivers, addressing their needs, interests, and operational concerns.
• Monitor Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments, optimize routing, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Serve as the primary contact for drivers, addressing operational concerns, route changes, and safety issues.
• Conduct regular safety and compliance meetings to reinforce company policies and regulatory adherence.
• Support customer service efforts by resolving shipping and delivery issues, maintaining strong client relationships.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, driver schedules, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure proper maintenance and safety of fleet equipment, coordinating repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with upper management regarding operational challenges and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• A degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or terminal operations.

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and industry safety standards.

• Experience dispatching, routing, and fleet management preferred.

• A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach staff.

• Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, staff, and external partners.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
