Summary:
This position is responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project timelines by coordinating all aspects of a construction project plan, including activities, resource allocation, work breakdown structures and milestones, to ensure timely completion within budget, while collaborating closely with project managers, lead field personnel, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential delays and proactively address schedule challenges; their key duties include developing baseline schedules, tracking progress, identifying schedule conflicts, proposing corrective actions, and communicating schedule updates to relevant parties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule Development:
- Collaborate with project teams to create comprehensive project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Assist in breaking down project scope into tasks that align with the work break down structure and define logical sequencing of activities.
- Assist in estimating activity durations, resource requirements, and critical path analysis.
- Develop baseline schedules for project tracking and percentage complete.
- Demonstrate ability to integrate electrical schedule into the general contractor’s overall project timeline.
- Progress Monitoring:
- Collect and analyze progress data (e.g., daily reports, completion percentages) to identify potential schedule deviations and impacts to completion of project.
- Update schedules based on actual progress and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Perform schedule impact analysis for change orders and communicate the impacts.
- Schedule Analysis and Risk Mitigation:
- Identify critical path activities and potential bottlenecks in the schedule.
- Proactively identify and assess schedule risks (e.g., weather delays, material shortages, trade stacking).
- Develop contingency plans and solutions to address potential schedule disruptions.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare and present clear, concise schedule reports to project management and stakeholders.
- Communicate schedule updates, changes, and potential impacts to project stakeholders
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and address concerns regarding project timelines
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and procurement teams to ensure schedule alignment.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is desired, though not required
- Three years of direct or indirect construction experience is desired, not required
- Proficiency in construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Understanding of construction methods and sequencing
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
