Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Draftsman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for converting 3D CAD models into detailed manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and providing crucial support throughout the production process. This role requires an individual with expertise in CAD software, manufacturing processes, and strong communication skills to work closely with various teams including welding, machining, assembly, and suppliers. The Draftsman will play an integral part in ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D CAD to Manufacturing Drawings: Convert 3D CAD models into clear and accurate 2D manufacturing drawings, including dimensions, material specifications, and any other relevant information needed for production.
- Bill of Materials (BOM): Create and maintain detailed bills of materials based on design specifications to facilitate procurement and production planning.
- DXF Drawings: Generate DXF files to support tool path creation for CNC machines and other automated manufacturing processes.
- Redraw PDF Drawings: Redraw existing PDF drawings to enhance clarity, accuracy, and ease of manufacturing.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to identify and recommend the most effective manufacturing methods, considering material properties, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Interfacing with Manufacturing Teams: Collaborate with welding, machining, and assembly departments to provide accurate manufacturing instructions and ensure that design specifications are met during production.
- Tooling Design: Design and develop tooling solutions to support efficient manufacturing processes and ensure product quality.
- Configuration Management and Revision Control: Maintain rigorous revision control of all documentation to ensure proper configuration management and traceability of changes.
- Other Duties as Required: Support additional duties and projects as needed, including assisting with the continuous improvement of design and manufacturing processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
