Terms: Permanent Position/ Full time/ M-F 8 hours daily
Position Summary: The Referral Coordinator is responsible for completing various administrative tasks to support our patients by sending referral documentation to the different outside providers/specialist. Ultimately, you will organize, manage, and deliver referral documents on behalf of us and provide authorizations when needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety.
Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information.
Assemble information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs.
Provide appropriate clinical information to specialist.
Contact review insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met.
Review details and expectations about the referral with patients.
Follow up with specialist office to ensure patient was seen for scheduled appointment.
Verify status of care and request supporting medical records.

Work experience as a Referral Coordinator or similar role.
Strong customer service focus principles and practices.
Proficient in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology.
