Job Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Service Writer/Transporter to join our team! In this key role, you will support the Service Department in achieving maximum efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include assisting in daily operations, fostering teamwork, maintaining service records,and ensuring that sales and profit objectives are met. You will play an integral part in building and maintaining a loyal clientele and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote harmony and teamwork across all departments.
- Greet service customers and foster a positive environment to ensure a successful team system for all service personnel.
- Gather vehicle information and offer technical assistance and guidance to employees when needed.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and accounted for.
- Give customer rides as needed
- Ford pick-up and delivery involvement
- Build strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Stay updated on new equipment and tools; recommend purchases when appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness in work and customer waiting areas.
- Move vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
- Help keep the lot organized
- Provide support and assist the service advisors and train to be a fill in service writer
- Adhere to dealership policies and procedures set forth by dealership management and manufacturer specifications.
Required Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
- One year of dealership experience required.
- Valid New York State Driver License.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Occasional weekend and evening hours are required.
Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
- Computer software: Microsoft Office to include Word, and Outlook.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to perform a range of physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent movement throughout the dealership, including the lot, showroom, service department, and offices.
- Occasional outdoor work and test drives in various weather conditions.
Environmental Conditions:
- Work is performed in a dealership setting (lot, showroom, service department, and offices).
- Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
Hazards and Safety Precautions:
- Hazards include slips, trips, falls, ergonomic injuries, and occasional lifting.
- Safety training provided on lifting, stretching techniques, and hazard awareness.
