What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Maguire Iron Inc?
For over 100 years, Maguire Iron has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Estimator for our Maintenance division will oversee the entire bid process from bid inception to pre-construction. Primary tasks include reviewing plans / specification, review of subcontractor proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, material, cost, and labor estimates for tank rehabilitation projects.
Essential Functions :
- Utilize excel documents to calculate actual costs of projects
- Suggest and implement improvements to Maguire systems
- Negotiate with sub-contractors, engineers & owners
- Seek out potential risks and problems for accurate pricing
- Establish project objectives for safety, schedule, quality, profit, client relationship, company growth, and staff development
- Build relationships with potential customers
