Essential job functions, including but not limited to :
- Assemble records, review for chart deficiencies and route to appropriate destination for completion, according to established guidelines.
- Scan Internal and external forms / documents into the appropriate chart / dividers, according to departmental procedures.
- Handles requests for release of information, verifies valid authorizations and maintains ROI tracking log.
- Handles distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, pneumatic tube station and fax machine material.
- collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, administrators, and IT specialists to implement and maintain health information systems that support optimal patient care. Purges / destroys old records according to departmental guidelines.
- Answers phone, assist walk-ins, handles requests for information appropriately.
- Complies with departmental and company policies and procedures.
- Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.
- Conduct self in accordance with Mahaska Health's confidentiality policy; ensuring to follow all MHP training guidelines in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
