We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join us at our headquarters in Woodridge, IL. The Accounting Specialist supports the Accounting Department to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial information and compliance with internal controls. The position will be responsible for the following: monthly closing duties, supporting billing and AP functions, bank account reconciliation, and special projects as needed.
This is a hybrid role. 3 days in office, 2 days working from home.
Schedule is Monday through Friday 8am- 5pm with some flexibility.
Starting hourly rate: $23-$24.50
Essential Functions
- Receiving, processing and recording invoices, vouchers, cash and checks. Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
- Participating in month end closing, reconciliation, JE and resolving account discrepancies.
- Checking for accuracy in reports, figures and postings. Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
- Preparing reports for management. Reconciling and reporting any discrepancies found in the records.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors and reconciling statements.
- Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
- Assisting with other accounting projects and audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Intermediate skills in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, v-look up, etc.) required.
• Minimum three years direct accounting experience. - Strong teamwork and communication skills.
