The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring quality food preparation, closing the restaurant, and maintaining efficient operations while adhering to budgetary guidelines and driving revenue.

Duties:
- Supervise daily restaurant operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations (floor support for staff; assist in hosting, serving, and food preparation, when necessary; coordinating cleaning schedules, cover shifts of absent employees)
- Manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations to foster a positive work environment and to ensure proper staffing and maintaining exceptional service.
- Close the restaurant and complete daily closing procedures and reports.
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels to minimize waste.
- Implement budgeting strategies to optimize operational costs while maximizing profitability.
- Handle cash management duties, including cash handling procedures, tip calculations and daily reconciliation of sales.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly (table touching, guest relations and outreach)
- Follow staff feedback and resolve issues, and filter to GM with response.
- Assist GM with menu updating and print organization.
- Assist GM with maintaining and updating training materials.
- Participate and assist GM with monthly marketing planning and strategies.
- Follow up on recruitment postings, and schedule and conduct interviews, to ensure proper staffing at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a full-service sushi & hibachi restaurant setting.
- Conversational Mandarin skills (understanding and speaking) in order to communicate properly with staff members.
- Availability on weekends and holidays is required.
- Experience using common restaurant software like Quickbooks and Toast.
- Strong skills in inventory control and kitchen management practices.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management within a restaurant context.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team development and motivation.
- Experience with making sushi and cooking hibachi is a big plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and courteous manners to interact positively with both staff and customers.
