What are the responsibilities and job description for the Attendance Specialist position at Main Office?
Esperanza Cyber Charter School (ECCS), located in North Philadelphia, is currently
accepting applications for an 12-month schoolwide Attendance Specialist
position. The Attendance Specialist will contact students regarding their
school attendance, virtually and in person. This position will work closely with the
school social workers, counselors, and other agencies to assist students and family
needs as well as helping students get back on track with attendance and
completing their grade level.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Spanish fluency is required
- Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- An associate's degree required
- School experience and PowerSchool SIS experience are a plus
- Current FBI fingerprints, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks
Responsibilities:
- Maintains regular school attendance and overrides late students in the Student Information System
- Maintains and tracks records of tardiness and absences
- Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages, and routes calls
- Responds to inquiries from students, teachers, and parents regarding attendance rules and absences
- Compiles and submits a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end reports as
- required
- Maintains records of student absence due to appointments
- Creates, prepares, distributes, and files records, reports, and correspondence related to attendance and truancy
SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be bilingual
- Must be able to conduct door-to-door meetings as needed
- Must be able to assist in meticulously tracking and collecting data as identified for the program
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working.
- Constant hand, finger, and arm use, and excellent eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to hear clearly and speak intelligibly.
- To occasionally function in activities involving walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- To occasionally stand for extended periods.
- Ability to see and perform visual activities such as closing paperwork, using a computer monitor, reading, and writing.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to come onsite for all required days - 3-4 days a week.
