Senior SAP FI/CO Functional Consultant

Main Sail has an immediate opening for a Senior SAP FI / CO Functional Consultant for a Department of Energy client. Main Sail is a Veteran-owned small business with 20 years' experience supporting Defense and Energy systems and missions.

The Senior SAP FI / CO Functional Consultant should have SAP Finance subject matter expertise in two or more of the below domains : General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Funds Management. Experience with SAP Public Sector Financials. Within Funds Management, the ability to track (and control) detailed budgets organized by Fund (source of budget), funds center (area of responsibility), and commitment item (type of expenditure). Configuration experience and the ability to create a budget for each level of this 3-dimensional structure.

Responsibilities include :

• Gather requirements and design solutions to meet these requirements
• Facilitate interaction with technical counterparts to ensure technical solutions meet all functional requirements.
• Developing test strategies and managing large complex test efforts
• Business process design and system analysis
• Coordinate and manage across architects, developers, technical services (i.e. BASIS, Middleware, Portal) and business analysts to perform business analyst functions and responsibilities
• Maintenance, enhancement and / or development of SAP modules, including interfacing with other applications
• Experience with budgeting, staffing, forecasting and work planning
• Manage a team, including mentoring and training junior team members

Mandatory Qualifications :

• 7 years SAP ECC Finance experience
• Strong SAP FI AND CO solution design and configuration experience
• Team lead experience

Preferred Qualifications :

• SAP S / 4 Experience
• Relevant SAP certifications

Location : Remote with potential travel to client’s site in Kansas City (up to 50% during key milestones, up to 25% for rest of time).

Period of Performance : Starts late January 2025, with target MVP deployment in October 2026.

• United States Citizenship (Dual citizenship not authorized) and an Active DoD or DOE eligibility with favorable determination is required per government contract.
