Graphite is searching for full-time experienced Pastry/Pantry chefs, anticipated opening date mid January2024. Looking for motivated individuals with strong work ethic and the ability to adapt with an eagerness to learn.Key Responsibilities
Pastry & Dessert Preparation:
- Prepare and create a variety of fine dining desserts, including pastries, cakes, tarts, and plated desserts.
- Assist in the development of seasonal dessert menus and specials.
- Ensure the consistency and quality of all desserts, ensuring they meet the restaurant’s high standards for presentation and taste.
Pantry Station Duties
- Prepare cold appetizers, salads, and other pantry-based dishes according to menu specifications.
- Maintain the pantry station, ensuring all ingredients are fresh, well-organized, and properly stored.
- Create garnishes, dressings, and accompaniments to complement dishes.
Kitchen Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with the pastry team, chefs, and front-of-house staff to ensure the smooth operation of service.- Assist in coordinating plating, ensuring that all dishes are delivered on time and at the appropriate temperature.
- Communicate effectively to ensure accurate timing and smooth service flow during busy periods.
Food Safety & Cleanliness
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Properly store and rotate ingredients to ensure food safety and minimize waste.
Inventory Management
- Assist in maintaining inventory for the pastry/pantry station, including ordering and receiving supplies as needed.
- Track ingredient usage and ensure proper stock levels to avoid shortages during service.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, Pantry Chef, or in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale restaurant.
- Strong background in pastry preparation, baking, and cold kitchen techniques.
Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of pastry and dessert techniques, with a focus on creativity, presentation, and flavor.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen organization.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Certifications
- Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are preferred.

$16/18/hour based on experience
