Job Overview
The MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY invites applications for the position of Assistant Training Instructor. As a key member of our training team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in the fields of deck and engineer operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and teaching classroom and lab classes as directed by the Senior Training Officer.
- Supervising and training students of varying experience levels in practical operation of all engineering space machinery, tools, and safety equipment.
- Frequently acting as a safety observer during any evolution involving groups of students; working knowledge of/experience with Safety Management Systems is recommended.
Essential qualifications include:
- USCG Third Engineer's License – Steam unlimited or similar qualification
- STCW 2010 Endorsement
- Valid US Passport
- Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
- Valid Merchant Mariner Credential
- Valid USCG Medical Certificate
