Safety and Security Focus
The Campus Safety Officer II plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the Maine Maritime Academy campus. This includes patrolling the area to identify potential safety hazards and security concerns, responding to customer requests, and working with the campus community to promote safe work practices.
Main Responsibilities
* Patrol the campus by foot and vehicle to ensure all facilities are properly secured
* Respond to customer requests for assistance with student-related issues, parking questions, or emergency situations
* Work closely with Student Services to enforce Academy rules and maintain required records
* Provide emergency response support during working hours and from time to time off-work hours
* Assist residential life personnel with student-related issues
Qualifications and Requirements
* Associate's degree or three to five years relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Supervisory experience preferred
* Ability to read and interpret safety documents, SOPs, and manuals
* Effective communication skills to interact with students, employees, residents, and state/local agencies
* Must be able to accurately document facts as reported and/or witnessed
