Maine Municipal Association’s Risk Management Services team is currently recruiting for a Worker’s Compensation Claim Representative.

The MMA Worker’s Compensation Fund is the largest WC self-insurance pool in Maine and provides coverage for most municipalities in the state. This position is responsible for managing the lost time claims of assigned members. The successful Workers’ Comp Claims Representative will have proven investigation, analysis, human relations and communications skills.

This claims professional works with legal concepts and medical terminology, interviews employers, employees and witnesses about accident details, estimates claim costs, negotiates and settles disputed claims. Some in-state travel will be required. Attentiveness to deadlines is critical. Our preferred candidate will possess 1-3 years insurance or business related experience and will possess or will acquire a State of Maine Adjusters License within one year from date of hire. A college degree is preferred, however experience and/or an equivalent combination of education with experience will be considered. MMA is primarily an automated environment, familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is strongly desired. Willing to train the right candidate.
